The first full storyline in the daily comics after the death of E.C. Segar, Spinach Juice Springs was run from December 12, 1938-March 25, 1939. This was also Tom Sims and Doc Winner's first full story together (as writer and artist, respectively). Popeye's crew meet numerous characters in their Spinach Juice Springs adventure, but none as disarming as Susie the Sea Nymph!
